The Ultimate Arizona/ Utah Roadtrip

July 11, 2016 2 min read

Hi guys! Dilan here! I just got back from an awesome road trip through Arizona and Utah! Here are some of my must do things for an awesome Arizona/Utah adventure!

1. Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Its a little hard at first, but once you get the hang of it, wake boarding in Lake Havasu is so much fun!

If you just can’t get the hang of wake boarding, go for a swim in Lake Havasu! The water is almost as warm as a bath tub!

2. Antelope Canyon

Take a tour through Upper Antelope Canyon! If you go between the hours of 11am and 2pm, you’ll be able to see the sun streaks cut right through the narrow canyon!

3. Horseshoe Bend

If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck, look no further! Less than a mile from the parking lot is one of nature’s finest monuments, Horseshoe Bend! Sit on the edge of the cliff and enjoy the sunset!

4. Lake Powell

If you’re down for the challenge, rent a kayak and paddle across Lake Powell to the slot canyons! After exploring some slot canyons, paddle out to a couple of the mini sand bar islands! Each island has something different to offer from super soft sand to small pebble beaches!

5. Zion National Park, Utah

Angels Landing is a must-do when in Zion! Although the hike is a little over 2 miles with an elevation gain of 1,500ft, it’s definitely worth it! Once you reach the top, you’ll experience the best view of the park! - And bragging rights of course!

If you really want to see what Zion’s all about, you have to do the Subway! Beware, this is a strenuous 9 mile roundtrip hike, so bring lots of snacks and water! Also, keep in mind that the majority of the hike is through ankle to knee deep water! As you get closer, the canyon starts to narrow until you finally get to the Subway! It’s really refreshing to jump into the small pools of freezing water while in the Subway!

Bonus: Havasupai, Arizona

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to stop at Havasupai on my road trip, but from what I’ve heard, it’s amazing! Just make sure to reserve a permit months before!

And that just about wraps up my perfect Arizona/Utah road trip! Of course there’s still so much more out there to explore, so what are you waiting for!
